FUDCon Zurich 2010 Update
July 30th, 2010 — red_alertFUDCon Zurich 2010 is only 7 weeks away! ZOMG! Time for an update. I’m trying to keep this short so the topics covered might not be well connected to each other.
While the number of pre-registrations is steadily increasing (What, you’re not on the list? Go and change that!), the number of sessions is not. Please take a minute to think about things in and around Fedora you’re involved in or very familiar with and how you could present that to others (both: users & developers). If you could come up with something and add it to the list that’d be great. I’d say we need at the very least 30 more sessions!
If you already pre-registered and you’re not watching the pre-registration wiki page you might have missed that there’s been a change in the table that might need your attention. There’s been a $$$ column before which has been replaced by the T and A columns. While the old $$$ column simply indicated that you need any type of sponsorship, the T(ravel) and A(ccommodation) columns are more specific. People in need of accommodation sponsorship will get a sponsored bed in the Zivilschutzbunker (ZSB), i.e. to reserve a bed in the ZSB it’s enough to mark an X in the A column. People who additionally need travel sponsorship please mark an X in the T column and let me (red@fp.o) know the exact costs in USD or CHF or EUR – together with a little explanation of who you are (include your name and your FAS) and how FUDCon would benefit from your presence. ASAP.
So please check if there’s the right X in the right column. If you had an X in the $$$ column we moved that to the A column for you.
Disclaimer: we probably can’t sponsor everyone as our budget is limited. To be more precise our current budget is $0 as 7 weeks before the event we have no word from Fedora Community Architecture on how to get to the promised $20k. This fact might also proof to be fatal for the planned FUDPub as we can’t sign any contract with no money at hand and all possible/affordable locations are getting reserved (or very probably are already reserved by now).
Thanks to tatica (design) and kital (procurement) we got great FUDCon Zurich 2010 shirts (front and back):
Also thanks to tatica we got some nice FUDCon Zurich 2010 blog buttons everyone’s welcome to use:
